Possum!!!



There was one in our backyard this morning, ok, it wasn't quite that spastic looking as it lumbered through the yard, but I don't think I've ever seen a real life possum before.

Wow. That was quite a... shock to suddenly see when the page loaded. Though I'm sure seeing one in our backyard was probably a shock too.

you've really never seen a possum? i mean, before this morning?
let me tell you, the REAL shocker was the time the buck (and i mean like with big antlers and all) landed in our backyard. i'm dead serious. i was like 'where the hell did THAT come from?' where he went i'm sure was to 25A, because where else?
if you don't believe me i have pictures... he was big.

well notice I said life, as in alive, I've seen many squished into pancakes at the side of the road but I don't think that really count as seeing a possum.
I've seen exactly one deer since moving to here, and that was on campus. It does seem like there should be more with all the wooded areas, until at least everybody bulldozes their yard like our neighbors have.

You lived in Iowa for at least 20 years and you'd never seen an opossum alive? Hmmm I suppose you did live in the city, but you live in the city now.
